- Homewood.
Training at Eazy Inkz
The Birmingham Tattoo Apprenticeship program is hosted at Eazy Inkz, a tattoo and piercing studio in Tarrant, Alabama, led by Tattoo Artist Edward, better known as Eazy.
Eazy Inkz has built its name on two things: strong tattoos and a client experience that makes nervous first-timers feel at home. Equipment gets explained before anyone sits down, setups are checked carefully, and quiet wireless machines help keep the room calm.
The studio's tattoo work includes:
- Traditional tattoos with bold, vibrant color.
- Neo-traditional tattoos.
- Blackwork.
- Clean linework and smooth shading across every style.
For a Tattoo Apprentice, that combination matters. You learn the craft in a shop where explaining the process, checking every material and caring for the client are part of the daily routine, not an afterthought.

Edward (Eazy) - The Ink Therapist
The Birmingham Tattoo Apprenticeship program is led by Edward, the Tattoo Artist behind Eazy Inkz, whom clients and locals simply call Eazy. Many of his clients describe him as an Ink Therapist, and the name fits the way he works.
Eazy treats each appointment as a collaboration. He listens closely to what a client wants, suggests creative ideas that strengthen the design, and explains the process so people leave understanding their tattoo as well as wearing it.
On the technical side, he works in traditional, neo-traditional and blackwork, adding bold, saturated color to his traditional pieces. Clients regularly point to his crisp linework and smooth shading, the kind of precision that comes from steady, disciplined practice.
As a Mentor within the Ink Different network, Eazy provides apprentices with instruction in:
- Traditional, neo-traditional and blackwork technique.
- Crisp lines and even, smooth shading.
- Saturated color in the traditional style.
- Client consultation and communication.
- Helping first-time clients feel relaxed and informed.
- Studio setup, material checks and sanitation standards.

Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark
The former ironworks is one of the most recognizable sites in the city and hosts events throughout the year. Its stacks, boilers and weathered textures make it a favorite sketching spot for artists drawn to gritty, industrial imagery.

-
Alabama Theatre: A restored 1927 movie palace whose ornate interior and live performances offer plenty of decorative inspiration.
-
Railroad Park: A downtown green space beside the rail lines where you can step away from the drawing table and recharge.
