Tattoo apprenticeships at Ink Different are based on the traditional tattoo apprenticeship model with an increased focus on ongoing professional development, practice assessments, and real work experience. We "ink different" by providing clients with the warmest, most welcoming tattoo studio they've ever experienced—and our apprenticeships are no different. We believe in giving our clients high-quality custom tattoos and world-class customer service and teach our apprentices the skills to do just that. We provide apprenticeships with dignity to artists from all walks of life, and as a result, we have one of the most open and diverse artistic communities in the tattoo industry.

How to Become a Tattoo Artist

Interview with an Advisor

Do you love art? Are you curious about the path to becoming a Tattoo Artist? Learn more about our tattoo apprenticeships, and what it takes to become a successful Tattoo Artist by submit your current artwork for review. If all goes well, you will receive an invitation to meet with our Admissions Team.

Start From Home-
Finish In Our Studios

As a tattoo apprentice, you’ll start online in a live virtual classroom, where you will work one-on-one with your trainer. Once you pass your virtual classroom requirements, you’re ready to complete your apprenticeship in one of our studios. Apprenticeships generally take 1 year to complete.

Guaranteed License

Become a Licensed Tattoo Artist! Upon completion of apprenticeship programs, each apprentice achieves become a licensed Tattoo Artist. Upon completing our Tattoo Artist Certification Program, we welcome you to tattoo at one of our exceptional tattoo studios. You will have all the skills necessary to provide quality custom tattoos with world-class customer service to your clients.

Don’t stress too much about where you are right now as an artist, as Phase 1 of the Tattoo Artist Certification Program is the Art & Design phase, so we’ll be here to help you develop and guide you along the way as you progress to Phase 2 Machine Mastery.

Train and develop your art skills on Saturdays for 6 Weeks with Tattoo Artist and Tattoo Apprenticeship Instructor, Louise Gasca! Louise Gasca was born in Aldershot, England. She studied Fine Art at the University of Hertfordshire and went on to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. After relocating to the US, Louise became a Tattoo Artist through Ink Different Tattoo’s Tattoo School, and now tattoos in Orange County, CA.
